At Leigh and Bransford we teach the national curriculum as laid out by the Department for Education and as summarised on this page. In addition to this we strongly believe that there are a whole host of life skills such as resilience, perseverance and empathy that it is essential our pupils are taught to ensure that they have the best possible life chances as they grow up.

Our vision is best summarised as:

Our aims are provide an exciting, happy and secure place where high quality education enables pupils to develop as individuals and prepares them for successful lifelong learning. We achieve these goals by providing a curriculum with many opportunities for pupils to use and apply previously taught skills in order to deepen their learning and effectively interact with others.

We ensure that our pupils’ curriculum is as rich as possible with many opportunities to learn outside of the classroom and in this way we secure high levels of pupil engagement with their work. We are highly fortunate to be well supported by our parents in meeting the aims of the school and for working in partnership with us to secure the highest standards of behaviour.

We use the Read Write Inc phonics scheme to support the teaching of phonics and Oxford Reading Tree to support reading for our younger pupils.
