Our premium is spent by on making additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE, physical activity and sport for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. In addition we use it to support the wellbeing of our pupils to ensure that they are both mentally and physically healthy.
We have deployed Sports Premium funds to enable pupils of all ages to benefit from Karate, Yoga and Gymnastics. This wider offer of sporting choices has resulted in a wider range of pupils taking part in extra curricular activities. These sports managed to attract participants who were not taking part in football, rugby and netball. Strong relationships have been forged with the providers which means that these sports will be on offer for future cohorts.
We have worked with parents to offer swimming teaching which meets the needs of the pupils who cannot yet swim. We do this by offering bespoke lessons to those who need them. The impact of the last lessons that we ran was as follows.
- 93% of our pupils could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
- 93 % of our pupils could use a range of strokes effectively.
- 93% of our pupils could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
