At Leigh and Bransford Primary we are fortunate to have a group of highly skilled and dedicated school governors. They ensure that the school is being properly run and hold the head to account for academic, health and safety and safeguarding standards. Along with the headteacher, the governing body is made up of:
Jon Slattery: Jon is our Chair of Governors. He also sits on our Property Committee and our Finance Committee. He oversees Maths and DT in the school. Jon has worked hard to ensure that the recent school expansion has been delivered to a high standard and is a fitting environment in which our pupils can learn.
Paula Morris: Paula is Vice Chair and oversees the Early Years and school safeguarding. She also sits on our Curriculum Committee. Paula ensures that the school adheres to best safeguarding practice in its day to day operation.
Mark Yates: Mark is Chair of our Finance Committee and also sits on our Property Committee. He ensures that the school is properly resourced and that best value is achieved by the school at all times. In addition he also oversees RE and Forest School.
Jon Sutton: Jon is our Property Committee Chair and oversees Science, ICT and Geography in the school. He also sits on our Finance Committee.
Sarah Phillips: Sarah oversees achievement and attainment across the school. In addition she oversees Special Educational Needs and Literacy.
Vanessa Dryburgh: Vanessa oversees MFL and PE and she sits on our Curriculum Committee.
Jessica Beeching: Jess leads the Curriculum Committee and oversees Music and History.
Jennie Bond: Jennie oversees communication and Art at our school. In addition she is looking at ways of improving community cohesion in the school.
Darnley Payne: Darnely is an associate governor who has a background in higher education, psychology and engineering.
Claire Sanders: Claire is a parent governor with a background in business, education and sport.
Angela Hancock: Angela is a parent governor with a background in human resources.
Jayne Morgan is our Clerk to the Governors.
