KIRFs - Key Instant Recall Facts

KIRFs are key of mathematical knowledge that will help your child's fluency. If they can recall these key facts, it will help them approach reasoning and problem solving. Think of it like the initial sounds you learn when reading, before they are blended together. If they are learnt, practised and embedded then they will help with pupil confidence to all areas of maths.

We have a whole-school approach to KIRFs, with each year group having a set KIRF for every half term. The documents below set out the overview for the whole school, and each individual year group has a document which contains the KIRFs, ideas on how to practise them and how they can be used.
